Inspiring the Next Generation of Conservationists at Career Pathway Day

The Berrien County Conservation District was proud to be part of Career Pathway Day at the Mendel Center, hosted by Berrien RESA! With nearly 2,000 ninth-grade students exploring careers across a wide variety of professions, it was an incredible opportunity to introduce students to the many career paths available in conservation.

Our team had the opportunity to connect with more than 500 students, sharing what we do and how conservation can become a career. From MAEAP and regenerative agriculture to produce safety and community engagement, we highlighted the many ways our work supports local farms, protects natural resources, and strengthens our communities.

The questions were thoughtful, the conversations were meaningful, and we hope we helped plant a little seed of conservation in the hearts of the next generation. You never know which conversation might inspire a future conservationist, agricultural professional, or environmental leader!

A huge thank-you to Berrien RESA and everyone who helped make this event such a success. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many students and show them that conservation has a place in their future.

And of course, we aren't waiting long to get started again! Our planning boards are already filling up with ideas for next year. We can't wait to see what the future holds!

The future of conservation starts with the next generation.
