Native Plant Sale

Planting native species is a powerful way to support local ecosystems and promote biodiversity in your own backyard. Michigan native plants have co-evolved with the state's wildlife, providing essential food, shelter, and habitat for native bees, butterflies, birds, and other wildlife. By choosing native plants, you'll be helping to preserve the natural beauty and ecological balance of our state. However, it's equally important to be mindful of invasive species, which can outcompete native plants and cause harm to the environment. To support your efforts, we offer an annual native plant sale in the spring, and new this year, a fall native plant sale. Our selection of native plants will help you create a thriving and sustainable landscape that benefits both you and the environment.

Backyard Habitat Certification
Over the next few years, our goal is to develop a Backyard Habitat Certification program designed to guide you through the process of creating a thriving native plant habitat in your own yard. While we work to bring this program to life, we'd like to introduce you to Wild Ones in South Bend, who offer a similar initiative called "Healthy Habitat Certification." Their program provides a comprehensive framework for creating a healthy and sustainable ecosystem in your backyard, and we'd be happy to connect you with their resources and expertise. Stay tuned for updates on our own program, and in the meantime, explore the opportunities available through Wild Ones!
